Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren Akins (Thomas' real last name), go way back. The two of them have known one another since the first grade, and were best friends for years. They married on October 12, 2012, and their love story has quickly become one of the most-talked about in country music.
Fans got the chance to see the many reasons why Thomas loves Lauren when he co-wrote and released a song inspired by her called "Die a Happy Man", which went on to become a number one hit. As Thomas' song increased in popularity, more people started to follow Lauren's life as well, and learned exactly why Thomas is so madly in love with her.
Lauren went to school to become a nurse, and since then she's used her degree to help children around the world. In partnership with an organization called 147 Million Orphans, Lauren has traveled with nursing teams to impoverished areas in Haiti and Africa to provide medical care to orphans living there.
It's no wonder Thomas feels like he can "Die a Happy Man" as long as he has Lauren in his life. We have so much admiration for Lauren and her kind heart.
Let's give all of these amazing country music spouses one final round of applause!
