Any country guy or gal loves some good home cooking, but when you're away from home, going to Cracker Barrel is the next best thing.
Cracker Barrel is known for its country comfort food such as country fried steak, catfish, and homemade chicken n' dumplings. But besides its main courses, many people come to Cracker Barrel for its tasty, buttery biscuits.
Now, Cracker Barrel is making its famous biscuits the center of a new restaurant chain, called Holler & Dash Biscuit House. The new restaurant's first location is set to open in Homewood, Alabama, and plans on "bringing flair to Southern fare and giving your taste buds something to talk about."
In this fast-paced world, the new restaurant hopes to target younger consumers, especially through its quick service. Unlike Cracker Barrel, which is a sit down restaurant, Holler & Dash will have more of a fast-casual setting, similar to other successful restaurant chains such as Panera.
The restaurant was also created to reach out and bring country cooking to more urban areas, according to Cracker Barrel CEO Sandy Cochran.
"With its biscuit-inspired menu that pays tribute to the South in an innovative and modern way, Holler & Dash was created to extend our reach into urban [areas] and attract new audiences," Cochran told Business Insider.
Not many details are known about the Holler & Dash menu at this time, but we do know it will include a delicious biscuit called "The Jam," which is smothered in jelly and chocolate.
As of right now, Holler & Dash's only location will be in Homewood, but according to the look of their biscuits like "The Jam," we'd say there will be a high demand for new locations in no time.
You can stay up to date on the progress at the Homewood location on the Holler & Dash Facebook page here.
Who else is excited to get their hands on these mouthwatering biscuits?
