With the 2016 presidential election heating up, more and more country music artists are speaking out to show their support for their favorite candidate. Last month, Bonnie Raitt expressed her support for Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders by signing a letter distributed by his campaign.
However, Raitt seems to be in the minority, as many more country stars have come out in support of a Republican candidate, specifically Donald Trump. Just a few artists that have expressed their support for Trump include Loretta Lynn, Kenny Rogers, and Kid Rock.
Now, "Til My Last Day" singer Justin Moore has joined many of his fellow country artists in declaring his support for Trump.
Moore spoke about the election and his political views with CMT's Cody Alan during a recent episode of CMT After Midnite, saying it shouldn't be a surprise to fans that he's a Republican.
"I said a couple of years ago that for the Republican Party to get in the White House it was going to take something completely out of the box in order to make that happen," he said. "I think Trump is doing that."
So what is it that Moore likes about Trump? Although he admits he doesn't agree with everything Trump says or does, Moore says he likes his winning attitude.
"I like the fact that he evokes a sense of winning, you know?" he said. "I know it’s offensive to some people, and I’m not going to say I agree with everything he says, clearly. I think he’s just wacky enough to actually go do it. He doesn’t like to lose. I think he’ll win for our country if he were to get in there."
Although Moore supports Trump, he said he also likes Republican candidate Ben Carson, and respects the differing opinions that others have when it comes to politics.
Whether you agree with Moore's views or not, we can all agree that he makes great music. You can watch his official music video for "Til My Last Day" below.
