Tragedy struck the Meisner family on Sunday March 6.
Lana Rae Meisner, the wife of Eagles co-founder Randy Meisner, passed away on Sunday in the couple's Los Angeles home.
CBS Los Angeles reported that Lana Rae was fatally shot "after she moved a firearm that accidentally discharged."
According to police, Lana Rae, who was 63 at the time of her death, was pronounced dead when police arrived around 7:10 p.m.
But that wasn't the first time police were called to the house...
Around 5:30 p.m. police responded to a radio call of a woman asking for help due to a "possibly intoxicated male suspect" on the property. It was reported that "police took a domestic violence incident report and left the location."
By 7 p.m., police responded to a second radio call from a potential shooting in the home. When officers arrived they found Lana Rae with a single gunshot wound.
Investigators have since determined the death was an accident, and Randy has been very cooperative with police.
Police reported that Lana Rae was moving a rifle aside in a stored case to get another item, and it the gun shifted which lead her to accidentally hit the trigger.
