Carrie Underwood has been touring on her Storyteller - "Stories In The Round" world tour since the end of January 2016. Everything has been going great with fans raving about her performances, but at a recent stop in Norway - things took an unexpected twist.

While off the stage in Oslo, the superstar posted a photo of herself enjoying the sights and sunset by the water to social media - giving fans a glimpse into the beauty of Norway, but their reception of the photo was less than pleasant.

Nearly immediately after uploading the selfie, the singer came under heavy scrutiny from her Instagram followers because they felt she looked much different in this photo than others. They were noticeably less eloquent with their criticism.

"This doesn't even look like @carrieunderwood," user Kerri B. stated.

Another commenter, Annette Hardman lashed out at the beloved performer, saying "Drag queen, fake photo." Later, Hardman even went further and claimed the singer had gotten a "nose job" and "chin job".

Underwood was reading the comments and even spoke up at one point to support a user who brought up a great point amid all the hatred.

"So much negativity. Such a shame that as women we can't empower one another. You're absolutely stunning, Carrie!" said Denise Munoz

"Right? Thank you," the superstar wrote back just a short time before she made the decision to delete the snapshot from social media.

One of Carrie's supporters posted a screenshot of the comments to her Twitter page saying, "It breaks my heart knowing that Carrie saw all this. She's perfect."

Neither Underwood nor her team has released a statement addressing this bout of bullying, but her loyal supporters struck back at the people tearing Underwood apart and showed their love for the star using the hashtags #WeLoveYouCarrie and #CarrieYoureBeautiful.

What do y'all think of the situation? Let us know in the comments.
