When Trisha Yearwood was cast as Virgin Mary in Fox's upcoming "Passion" television special, she probably didn't think they'd only have two days to rehearse the program! But, that's exactly what happened!
In an interview with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, Yearwood reveals that the short rehearsals really have gotten her nerves in a bunch.
"I've never done anything like this," Yearwood began. "We've all recorded our music for the soundtrack separately, so none of us have met each other. We all get to new orleans a couple days before and meet for the first time and do an ensemble rehearsal for two days and then it's live on that Sunday."
The singer has recorded several songs for the track and one of them gets a sneak peek on the show, which Yearwood is excited about. "Broken" - originally written and recorded by Lifehouse, gets a refresh with the country queen's vocals and absolutely stunned the talk show hosts.
What about those nerves we talked about earlier? Well, Yearwood reveals that it's a whole new ball of wax for her...
"I'm beyond nervous. I am really freaking out," she admits. "I'm really glad there's wine!" she continues, joking about the wine they had served her on the talk show.
Fox's TV event, "The Passion" will air live on Palm Sunday, starring Trisha Yearwood as The Virgin Mary.
