Rory Feek is a writer by nature, which is why he managed to captivate so many with his emotional blog posts about Joey's cancer battle. Country fans followed Joey's journey through Rory's beautifully written posts on This Life I Live, up until the day Rory announced his wife's greatest dream had come true, and that she was in heaven.
Joey passed away on Friday, March 4, but although she is no longer on this Earth, Rory plans to use his natural gifts to make sure her story continues.
Although Rory already said that he has no desire to continue singing and performing without Joey, he has some other ideas for how he can keep her legacy alive. Before Joey passed away, Rory shared with People in January that she often encouraged him to take part in a variety of projects once she was gone.
"She talked to me about how she wants me to continue to tell our story, and other stories," Rory said. "This past spring I co-wrote and directed my first film, and she wants me to go on and continue writing and making more movies."
But knowing how good of a storyteller her husband is, Joey also persuaded him to continue their story of family, faith, and love in one of the best ways possible.
"She's also encouraged me to write a book," Rory shared. "Joey and I have both experienced the power of living, and telling a great story, so I hope to be able to continue writing and being part of a great story."
We would love to read Rory's book about Joey and the life they shared. If his blog posts are any indication, we're sure the book will be a well-crafted and emotional piece. We can't think of a better way to make sure Joey's story continues to live on.
Please continue praying for Rory, and all of Joey's loved ones.
