Since Joey Feek passed away on March 4, celebrities of all kinds, not just country music stars, have been sending in their condolences and paying tribute to her. During one of his recent shows, talk show host Dr. Oz joined in by paying tribute to her through an emotional video message.
Dr. Oz first spoke about Joey + Rory and Joey's brave cancer battle months ago on his show. After hearing the news of Joey's death, Dr. Oz wanted to honor her life and the legacy she has since left behind.
He opened his tribute by speaking about the love that Joey + Rory shared with one another, and how it was something truly special.
"Their's was a love song, from the moment that Joey, an aspiring singer, met Rory, a songwriting Marine," he said. "They bonded over a shared passion for music and their Christian faith."
The video tribute featured various clips and images of Joey + Rory throughout the years: when they first found fame, when they welcomed their baby girl, Indiana, and when Joey started her cancer treatments and eventually entered hospice.
In closing, Dr. Oz played part of the music video to Joey + Rory's emotional song, "When I'm Gone," which is about a wife telling her husband how to move on after she passes away. Although the couple recorded the song long before Joey was diagnosed with cancer, it eventually came to capture the exact story of their lives.
Dr. Oz's final words about Joey appealed to all of the things she loved most, and how she inspired people around the world.
"Joey moved to hospice, to spend her final days surrounded by love, family, and faith, inspiring us all with her quiet strength in the face of suffering," he said.

We continue to send our heartfelt prayers to Rory, Indy, and all of Joey's family and loved ones.
