Dierks Bentley celebrated a huge milestone in his career when he opened his new exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, called Dierks Bentley: Every Mile a Memory. In celebration of the exhibit, Bentley made an appearance at the museum for a sold out acoustic performance and interview on Saturday (Mar. 12).
While Bentley was on stage, he happened to here some music playing from someone's phone in the audience. It turns out that the fan forgot to turn their phone on silent, so the whole room heard the ringtone, and Bentley wasn't happy with what he heard.
"That better be one of my songs," Bentley said, before he realized the truth. The fan's ringtone was actually a Luke Bryan tune.
"That's just disrespectful!" Bentley said, prompting a round of laughter from the crowd.
Of course, Bentley's comments were all in fun. Him and Bryan are actually good friends, and are even hosting the ACM Awards together next month. That makes us wonder if maybe Bentley was preparing himself for his co-hosting duties, since later in the night he made another hilarious jab at Bryan.
According to People, while singing his 2005 hit "Come a Little Closer," Bentley came to the lyrics "I feel like strippin' it down," and stopped to point out that's where Bryan got the idea for his seductive single, "Strip It Down."
Bentley's jokes about Bryan make us even more anxious to watch them host the ACM Awards together. We're sure they'll both be hilarious!
