Before the start of Season 22 of "Dancing with the Stars", judge Julianne Hough announced that she would not be returning as a judge.
Fans everywhere were disappointed even more when her brother, pro-dancer Derek Hough, also announced he would not be returning to the ballroom this year. For the first time since season 4, Dancing with the Stars would not have a Hough sibling at all.
Hough rose to fame when she became a pro-dancer on Dancing with the Stars in 2007. She won her first two seasons, competed in three more, then became a judge in 2014.
"I will miss being on the panel," she reveals to PEOPLE Magazine. "But have a lot of exciting stuff coming that I look forward to sharing. The pro dancers, producers and crew at DWTS will always be my family."
The one thing that Hough loves about no longer being a judge on DWTS is that she can pick a favorite!
"It's nice now because I can actually have favorites. I watched the premiere, and I was super-rooting for [Boyz II Men's Wanya Morris] because he did Grease: Live with us," she reveals.
The break from DWTS will also allow her to focus on more projects that she is passionate about.
"I'm really excited because I'm focusing on some other things," she continues, "I'm at that point in my career where I need to focus on my personal career and make sure I'm doing what I'm doing."
Maybe those "other things" are planning a wedding! She became engaged to hockey player Brooks Laich in August 2015.
She is also busy collaborating with MPG Sport on her own line of activewear.
Maybe with her extra time, she'll record another country album!
