From a young age, it was clear to Drake White that he had a passion for music. He started off singing in his local church choir, and was writing his own songs when he was only 14.
After White graduated from college, he worked for a short time with a general contractor in Nashville, before he finally decided to pursue a career in country music in 2013. In the years since then, White has opened for many of country's biggest names, including Eric Church, Luke Bryan, and Little Big Town.
White released his debut single, titled "Simple Life" in 2013, which reached the 36th spot on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. He went on to sign with Big Machine Records' Dot Records the following year, and put together his first EP, It Feels Good.
The newest single from White's EP is called "Livin' the Dream," which was released to radio on December 7, 2015. "Livin' the Dream" celebrates life's little things, and how you don't need to be rich in order to live a dream come true.
In the song, White sings about how people doubted he could make his love last with his special someone. But even though they aren't rich, White says that they are still as happy as could be, singing, "Look at us with a picket fence/Don’t got a lot of money but we’re makin’ a dent/Old Ford truck with a dog in the back/Now, ain’t we livin’ the dream."
The music video for "Livin' the Dream" pairs perfectly with the lyrics, as it shows White and his beautiful wife enjoying all the best parts of country living. They can be seen dancing with one another in the woods, playing with their dog in the yard, and cruising down a backroad in their old truck. The video also shows scenes of White singing on the front porch of a cabin, as he's surrounded by a band playing classic country instruments.
White's new music video for "Livin' The Dream" showcases its message that sometimes it's the simple things in life that make you the happiest. You can enjoy watching it below.
