Kristy Lee Cook placed seventh in the seventh season of American Idol. Her performances of Dolly Parton's "Coat of Many Colors" and Martina McBride's "Anyway" secured her a spot in the Top 7.
Following her departure, she signed with Arista Nashville and 19 Recordings. Later that year, she released her debut single "15 Minutes of Shame". Her first album was released in September 2008 and made her Grand Ole Opry debut the same year.
She hosted The Outdoor Channel's "Outdoors 10 Best Show" and had a TV show on the same channel called "Goin' Country".
In 2010, she signed with Broken Bow Records and released a few singles.
She has since started the Kristy Lee Horse Heaven Foundation, which specializes in saving, caring for and training horses.
