9. "Coal Miner's Daughter" (1970)

One-of-a-kind, this unmatched hit has had such a powerful impact on country music, it's hard to say where its influence actually ends.

Loretta Lynn penned this autobiographical song to tell the story of her childhood in "Butcher Holler" and it went on to become her signature song.

It not only gained tremendous popularity in country music, striking the No. 1 chart spot, but it has created an entire legacy for the Lynn family including a book and feature film of the same name.

The song and its legacy have earned an endless number of awards and accolades over the years and in 2010, the Library of Congress put the track on the National Recording Registry to forever be remembered.
