On Friday morning (April 15), it was reported that Zac Brown was involved in a drug bust when he was attending a party at the Four Season Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida.
According to the New York Daily News, police authorities were called to the hotel because of a suspicious vehicle parked in front of the hotel. One man was arrested after they found cocaine hidden in a sunglasses case. He told the police he arrived with two women who were inside the hotel.
Police were then directed to the room where Brown was partying with at least nine other people. Two women and another man were arrested for possession of cocaine and marijuana.
Brown was reportedly in possession of prescription drugs and was asked to provide proof the pills were prescribed to him by a doctor. His name is mentioned once in the police report and no charges were made against the "Chicken Fried" crooner.
Early Friday afternoon, Brown made a statement via Facebook stating he was "in the wrong place at the wrong time".
Brown explained his involvement and that he did not know the people who were arrested.
"I did not know these people and had no idea that there were drugs in their possession. I cooperated fully with the authorities and am not part of any ongoing police investigation," he wrote. "Everyone is responsible for their actions, and I regret using poor judgment and putting myself in that position."
He continued saying that his focus will continue to be on his music, his fans, his family, and his community.
