A longtime racing fan and supporter of Kyle Busch ended up in the emergency room following an accident that happened trackside this past weekend.
Busch came off the track after some successes when he had hit the wall on Sunday, and headed toward the garage. Unfortunately for super-fan Erin Vandyke, she was getting set up for some photos, and was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Making a bee line for the garage with his second blowout on the right-front side, Busch was pointed straight in Vandyke's direction.
Seconds later, his car struck Vandyke and knocked her to the ground before she scrambled to get up and flashed him a thumbs up. But the saga didn't end there...
Immediately following the incident, Vandyke gave an exclusive interview with FOXSports.com, stating that she was all okay and had no lasting injuries.
Later on in the day, she went to get checked out at the infield care center, and that night checked in to a local emergency room.
“After it happened, I didn’t go get checked initially when it happened,” she revealed to FOXSports.com. “But after I started bending around, it starting hurting. So I went to the infield medical center and got checked out. And they told me if it started hurting more to go on and get checked completely, because they didn’t have X-rays there.”
At the point she spoke with the sports news outlet, she was in a patient room awaiting examination from the doctor.
We are hoping that there are no serious injuries sustained from this accident.
