Southern gospel music fans are very familiar with the Ball Brothers, a quartet from Chickamauga, Georgia, whose style and harmonies could best be described as a combination between N'Sync and The Imperials with a little bit of Boyz II Men thrown in. If you've never heard of the Ball Brothers, you're in for a treat!
The group, which started out with four brothers, now consists of two brothers, Andrew and Daniel Ball along with brother-in-law Chad McCloskey and newcomer, Matt Davis.
"We're a younger group and we're a different kind of group. At first, it was a struggle trying to imitate other groups and fit into the proverbial 'southern gospel mold,'" says tenor singer, Andrew Ball on the group's website. "We finally stopped apologizing for what we weren't and have embraced the uniqueness of our God-given voices and harmonies."
One of the Ball Brothers' most popular song covers what their a cappella take on the gospel classic "I Shall Know Him." The video, recorded in a hotel workout room, has garnered more than 6 million views.
Just this week, the quartet released a video tribute to moms that we think will give their hotel gym video a run for its money. The video for "Hey Mama" opens with people describing their mom in one word followed by the enchanting vocals of Andrew Ball backed up by the rest of the group.
Check out the video for "Hey Mama" below and be sure to share it with the special mom in your life!
