Over the past few years, Sadie Robertson has developed quite a following. She has 2.6 million followers on Instagram and 1.7 million followers on Twitter.
Robertson quickly turned into a role model for young girls when she started posting YouTube videos about self-confidence and loving yourself as you are. She also released a book called Live Original that details that same message.
Robertson posted a video to her Instagram Tuesday (May 3) that ruffled some feathers.
In the video, she and her friends are seen holding hands, but the gentleman to her right has a stun gun in his hand and uses it on himself. The rest of the video is a couple clips from their night. The girls put face masks on and then everyone was in a living room laughing.
The video caused some controversy because they were using the stun gun for fun.
Instagram user @spivinator said, "tasering is harmful, it is not a game, and it certainly is not godly especially in the manner you guys were doing in in! God tells us not to put others in harms way, but you put all of your friends in harms way tonight! I am sad to say this, but I will be unfollowing you not because i do not want to see you put anyone else in danger...How would your parents feel knowing that this is how you have chosen to represent them?"
Fans of hers were disappointed that she would encourage self-harm, especially since she is a role model to young girls and is in the public eye.
