Lady Antebellum Pulls Off Flawless National Anthem In The Rain Prior To Kentucky Derby

Lady Antebellum kicked off the Kentucky Derby Saturday (May 7) with a flawless rendition of the National Anthem. The trio got quite a surprise when a sudden rain storm unloaded on the group in the middle of their performance. 

But, the “Need You Now” singers didn’t miss a beat despite the weather surprise. In true Lady A fashion, Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley, and Dave Haywood sang through the rain and delivered a stunning version’s of The Star Spangled Banner.

Scott took to Instagram to talk about the bizarre moment. 

“What a CRAZY way to sing the National Anthem!!! A moment we will never forget @kentuckyderby! And I’ve never been more thankful for a hat!!” Scott captioned the photo on Instagram of the trio in their rained-on Derby attire.

The much-talked about performance was captured by fans and the video quickly made its way to social media. Watch the full video below.
