Every year, country fans look forward to one special awards show, in which they have the chance to be more involved than any other. The CMT Music Awards have been a favorite tradition of country fans and artists for many years, since it is unique from most other awards shows.

The CMT Music Awards specifically focuses on country music videos, and the award winners are picked based on fan votes. Each year, country stars gather in Nashville to celebrate their work with their fellow artists, as they anxiously await to see who will take home the night's top honor of Video of the Year.

Thomas Rhett announced the nominees on the Today Show on Monday morning (May 9), and it looks like fans are going to have a tough time picking their favorite videos to vote for.

Carrie Underwood has taken home the show's top prize for four years in a row, and has the chance to make it five, since she was nominated for Video of the Year for "Smoke Break." Other nominees for the night's top prize include Cam for "Burning House" and Chris Stapleton for "Fire Away."

Rhett was surprised to see that he too, was nominated for Video of the Year for his smash hit, "Die a Happy Man." The same video is also nominated in the Male Video of the Year category, where Rhett is up against the likes of Blake Shelton for "Sangria" and Sam Hunt for "Break Up in a Small Town"

Congratulations to all of the nominees! You can check out the full list bellow, and make sure to vote for your favorites before the awards show on June 8.
