Ever since Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood performed together on the American Idol finale, fans have been anxious to hear the duo’s collaboration on Urban’s new album, Ripcord

The wait is finally over! Keith Urban unveiled his new project today and released a number of tracks to YouTube, including his duet with Underwood titled “The Fighter.” Urban told The Boot that including Underwood on the song was a must, and despite many obstacles in his way, he was determined to make it happen.

“I love her voice. Love it! And I actually think she’s got so much more to go. She’s really really, really talented and she’s just really starting to discover what she can do as a singer,” Urban said.

With only one day free in her busy schedule, Underwood met with Urban’s producer at a St. Louis studio where she recorded her part. Urban was filming his video for “Wasted Time” while Carrie was in the studio two states away, but the Idol judge checked in when he could. “I would take a break and FaceTime them and check in with them,” Urban said.

We think you will agree that the result was magical! Hear Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood sing “The Fighter” below.
