Known for his unmatched talent behind-the-scenes of many hit records, this fan-favorite coach on The Voice is set to begin making waves in the country genre with a new partnership.
Already working on their forthcoming seventh studio album and the first record to follow the insane success of "Girl Crush", Little Big Town is charting new waters by flying between Nashville and Los Angeles to complete this new album with a surprising ally: Pharrell Williams.
The 43-year-old singer, producer, and rapper has been the mastermind behind such critical successes as Britney Spears' "I'm A Slave 4 U", Nelly's "Hot In Herre", and Justin Timberlake's album Justified - for which he won a Grammy award. Williams' list of notable projects is a lengthy list that covers many genres and artists from the last two decades.
The new album for LBT is entitled Wanderlust and holds a total of eight new tracks for the group, including one they recently performed for the finale of The Voice.
Of the collaboration, bandmate Karen Fairchild revealed in a press release exactly how great the partnership is.
"Wanderlust is the result of an incredible friendship and chemistry we have with Pharrell," She says. "What started out as one writing session a few months ago turned into multiple writing sessions, as well as back and forth trips from Nashville to Los Angeles."
"Pharrell loves country music and is a huge fan of harmony. That shared passion and appreciation took us on a creative journey we had no idea would happen. The music feels like our worlds have collided in the best possible way — his infectious grooves paired with our layered vocals and harmonies."
Set to be a follow up to Pain Killer (which featured their super-hit, "Girl Crush"), the album was describe by Fairchild as "meant to be danced to, sung along with, and turned up loud."
With powerful collaborations and a strong statement like that, this is surely going to be another hit record for the band and country music!
