Following the release of his latest single "Livin' the Dream," Drake White's career has taken off in a huge way. Released to country radio on December 7, 2015, "Livin' the Dream" has continued to climb up the charts ever since.
The song's simple message that money isn't all that matters in life is one that has resonated strongly with audiences. All of the attention surrounding "Livin' the Dream" led to White's first television appearance, when he performed it on TODAY.
On May 9, 2016, White's label Big Machine Records announced White's partnership with Ford Motor Company Fund to "make a positive impact" in five communities across the country. In a campaign called #LivintheDream by Giving the Dream, White plans to participate in service projects for five different organizations while on tour with The Zac Brown Band.
White's first stop on his mission to help others "live the dream" was in Hartford, Connecticut on May 19. While there, White partnered up with an organization called Foodshare, and a video from his time there shows him helping the other volunteers sort and pack boxes with meat products and bag up sacks of potatoes. The food White and the others sorted was then sent to people in need.
Now, that he's gaining greater influence, White is hopeful he'll be able to reach even more people and help them "live the dream":
"Whether I'm helping one family in my hometown in Alabama raise money for their urgent needs or helping a community with cleanup efforts after a storm, now that I have this platform it is more important to me than ever."
Hats off to White for doing everything he can to help others! You can watch the full video about his first stop on his #LivintheDream by Giving the Dream tour below.
