Carrie Underwood has collaborated with many talented artists over the years, from Keith Urban to Brad Paisley, and even the legendary Randy Travis. But now, Underwood is challenging an unexpected celebrity to join her for a duet.

As an actor and comedian, Andy Samberg seems like one of the last people that would be interested in pairing up with Underwood for a country duet. However, the Lonely Island comedy group member and former Saturday Night Live star does have some musical ties. He stars in a comedy musical film called Popstar, in which he plays a former boy band member named Conner. He’s also married to the multi-talented musician Joanna Newsom, who plays the harp and keyboard.

Since Samberg does have an admiration for music, Underwood decided to take a stab in the dark to see if he’d be interested in doing a duet sometime. She reached out to him on Twitter, and fans anxiously waited to see if Samberg would respond.

Not only did Samberg respond to Underwood’s request, but he sent her a video message to say that he would love to record a duet with her right away.

We will get on a plane right now and fly to Nashville,” he said “Just say the word, we’re at your beck and call. Let’s do this.”

A duet between Underwood and Samberg could be interesting! Guess we’ll have to wait and see if it really happens.

In the meantime, tune in below to listen to Underwood’s latest duet, “The Fighter,” which she sings along with Keith Urban.
