It's not very often a vocally gifted 16-year-old is discovered at a public festival, but we didn't say it's impossible!  Clodagh McGurk was casually attending the Big Splash Triathlon and River Festival in Portglenone of Northern Ireland with her mother and aunt, all aware that a popular Radio DJ Hugo "Uncle Hugo" Duncan would be live at this event. Although McGurk's attendance to this event needed coaxing from her mother, McGurk agreed to go and see the DJ on the account of her mother promising that she wouldn't let the man know that she could, as well as enjoyed to, sing. However, as we know, not all promises can be kept! And we are sure glad this one wasn't!

Upon meeting DJ Hugo, McGurk's mom dropped the big secret to the crowd and McGurk was invited to sing on the spot. She pulled the iconic song "Forever and Ever, Amen" by country star Randy Travis out of her mental repertoire of favorites and, from there, she completely blew the audience away!

McGurk's upbeat melody and impressive vocal range captivated not only the audience at the event, but the large mass of internet viewers that later enjoyed her uploaded performance. Within a matter of days, this rising star's video had accumulated a whopping 376,000 views!

McGurk was later interviewed about her performance and asked how she was reacting to the overwhelming feedback.

“I just can’t believe it’s real,” she said. “It’s hard to take in. It’s just so shocking that people are watching it and liking it. But it’s really nice to see. There are Facebook messages from people all over the world – from Texas and Australia.”

However, when asked about any plans to take her talent to the big leagues, she surprised her viewers with this response.

"I just sing at weddings and do community and charity events.. I don’t think I’m good enough to be honest."

Although her consistently rising number of views and abundance of positive feedback speaks otherwise, McGurk is deciding to finish her studies for now.

However, we think we speak for all of her viewers when we say we could listen to her forever and forever. Amen!

Check out this talented young lady's performance for yourself!
