Carrie Underwood Sings Alan Jackson's Classic "Remember When" (Live At The Opry)

Carrie underwood Songs | Carrie Underwood Sings Alan Jackson's Classic

Carrie Underwood has been impressing audiences with her amazing talent and effortless grace, since her start on American Idol. Underwood's seamless entrance into the country music scene has made her a country music icon in her own right. In this live Grand Ole Opry performance, Underwood takes on an Alan Jackson classic and tells the story of her first ever concert.

"Remember When" was released in 2003 off of Jackson's compilation album, Greatest Hits Volume II. The song spent two weeks at the #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, and remains a popular song of his today. Underwood spoke about the influence Jackson had on her own career.

"I get to remember my very first concert, Mr. Alan Jackson. That definitely is part of what lead me here, because I wanted to do that [sing] so bad."

Underwood performed "Remember When" for an excited Opry crowd, and of course, every verse went off without a hitch. She is such a talented artist and it is always a treat to see her put on a show!

Watch as Carrie Underwood pays tribute to one of her idols, and one of her reasons for chasing her 10-year-old self's dream of becoming a country singer.

Remember when I was young and so were you
and time stood still and love was all we knew
You were the first, so was I
We made love and then you cried
Remember when

Remember when we vowed the vows
and walked the walk
Gave our hearts, made the start, it was hard
We lived and learned, life threw curves
There was joy, there was hurt
Remember when

Remember when old ones died and new were born
And life was changed, disassembled, rearranged
We came together, fell apart
And broke each other's hearts
Remember when

Remember when the sound of little feet
was the music
We danced to week to week
Brought back the love, we found trust
Vowed we'd never give it up
Remember when

Remember when thirty seemed so old
Now lookn' back it's just a steppin' stone
To where we are,
Where we've been
Said we'd do it all again
Remember when
Remember when we said when we turned gray
When the children grow up and move away
We won't be sad, we'll be glad
For all the life we've had
And we'll remember when
