Taking to the stage in a sparkling gold dress, singing one of the most powerful songs of her career, country music’s very own Faith Hill dazzled and delighted the attendees during the 45th Annual Grammy Awards.

Having released her chart-topping crossover hit just a few months before, this country queen was recognized at the following Grammy Awards taking home the award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance and getting the incredible opportunity to deliver this iconic song live.

“Cry” is a thundering power ballad written by distinguished country music singer/songwriter Angie Aparo. Hill debuted her version of the song on her 2002 album of the same name and it quickly became a smash hit in multiple countries, spending more than 10 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

In this one-of-a-kind performance, Hill rocks the stage and show with a pared-down, more acoustic version of the hit – and she is pure brilliance!

There were some unconfirmed reports at the time of the performance that claimed Hill was suffering from the flu but had insisted on performing that night. While we don’t know if those were accurate – what we do know is that she did an outstanding job that earned her a standing ovation!
