Country music singer gone pop star, Taylor Swift, was just 16 years old when she made history, getting up on stage at the ACM Awards to perform her absolute favorite George Strait song, "Run"

Before her performance, Swift said a few words about the King of Country. "I'd never been on a big stage before or sung in an arena, so I asked him if he had any advice about performing in the round, and he said, 'Yes, I do.'" Lengthy pause. "I sensed I needed to ask a follow up question. So, I said, 'How do you do that?' and he said, 'Just do it for about 25 years and it'll feel real natural.'" How funny is that?

"Run" was released in 2001 as the lead single off of Strait's Road Less Traveled album. It peaked at #2 on the US Hot Country Songs (Billboard) chart.

Taylor's performance is one for the books. During her first tour, Taylor was the opening act for George, so this tribute to him must have been extra special to both of them and she must have really put her heart into this performance. George and his beautiful wife were all smiles during her rendition.

Be ready to replay this over and over again.

RUN LYRICS

If there's a plane or a bus leaving Dallas
I hope you're on it
If there's a train moving fast down the tracks
I hope you caught it

Cause I swear out there ain't where you ought to be
So catch a ride, catch a cab
Don't you know I miss you bad
But don't you walk to me

Baby run, cut a path across the blue skies
Straight in a straight line
You can't get here fast enough

Find a truck and fire it up
Lean on the gas and off the clutch
Leave Dallas in the dust
I need you in a rush
So baby run

If you ain't got a suit case
Get a box or an old brown paper sack
And pack it light or pack it heavy
Take a truck, take a Chevy
Baby just come back

There's a shortcut to the highway out of town
Why don't you take it
Don't let that speed limit slow you down
Go on and break it

Baby run, cut a path across the blue skies
Straight in a straight line
You can't get here fast enough

Find a truck and fire it up
Lean on the gas and off the clutch
Leave Dallas in the dust
I need you in a rush
So baby run

Baby run
Oh baby run
Baby run
