LeAnn Rimes first appeared in the country music scene in 1996, her debut single Blue immediately putting listeners on the edge of their seats, eager to hear more.
Oh, and did we mention she was only 13 years old?
Blue landed LeAnn a spot as the youngest nominee, and winner, of the Country Music Association's prestigious Horizon Award for 1997. In addition, she was awarded the Grammy® for Best New Artist, a historically unusual accomplishment for a country artist.
In 2011, LeAnn released Lady & Gentlemen, an album exclusively featuring covers of legendary male country performers including Ernie Ford, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, and the George Jones classic "He Stopped Loving Her Today."
LeAnn's rendition of the George classic is equally as riveting as the original, and she definitely does a great job of stirring the intended feeling.
You ought to check out the talented LeAnn live at the 2012 Grand Ole Opry in the video below!
