In 1994 Merle Haggard was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, and he absolutely deserved it!

We all know Merle is a fantastic artist, but who knew he was so funny! He had the crowd roaring from the moment he walked on that stage to accept his award. At one point in his acceptance speech he pulled out roll of paper taller than him with a list of all the people he wanted to thank, he began with a few notable people, "I want to start with my plumber out in Palo Cedro, I want to thank you for doing a wonderful job with my toilet...I want to thank my bug man, Mike, and I want to thank my chicken guard and frog man." Merle couldn't even get through the first line without making himself laugh! We love you Merle, because you are funny and talented!!

After joking around Merle got serious, he said, "Thanks to everybody, Reba, all of you, you're doing a great job, and I'm so proud to be part of the Country Music Hall of Fame." Merle Haggard got the standing ovation that he deserved, and we are so proud of him!
