In 2001, Brad Paisley was inducted into the The Grand Ole Opry at the age of 28, making him the youngest member to even join. He performed "Two People Fell In Love" while wearing the same yellow jacket that Buck Owens wore the night he recorded his Live At Carnegie Hall album.
Brad, an obvious fan of the Opry, said:
I love the Opry. I would call it my favorite place in the city of Nashville. That hallowed place that feels like home that has accepted me from the beginning.George Jones actually wrote a letter to Brad for this occasion that was read aloud:
I am counting on you to carry on the tradition and make folks sit up and listen to what good country music should sound like.
When Possum counts on you to carry on the country tradition, you better do just that and it's obvious that Brad has done just that. His music doesn't stray away from his country roots, even when there's a little bit of rock that's put into the mix - he keeps it country. Brad said, "You don’t last long here [the Opry] if you’re anything other than humble and down-to-earth." If y'all follow his music, then you know that he is exactly that.
Congratulations on such an achievement in your career, Brad. You deserve it a million times over!
