Dolly Parton Covers Glen Campbell's "Rhinestone Cowboy" with a Twist! (VIDEO)

Dolly parton Songs | Dolly Parton Covers Glen Campbell's

Back in 1976, Dolly Parton covered Glen Campbell's "Rhinestone Cowboy" on her television show, except she did this with a little twist, changing the word "cowboy" to "cowgirl".

"Rhinestone Cowboy" was a mega-hit for Campbell. It was so popular that it actually crossed over into the pop audiences. It was originally written and recorded by Larry Weiss in 1974 and released on his Black and Blue Suite album. Unfortunately, it didn't do so well. At least, not until Campbell got a hold of it. He released it in 1975 and it rocketed to #1 all around the world. In the U.S. though, it peaked at #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles chart, U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, and U.S. Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart.

Dolly's rendition is so much fun and definitely worth a watch. She's absolutely adorable, sporting a salmon-colored suit embedded with rhinestones.
