Legendary Glen Campbell's son, Shannon (29 years old), and daughter, Ashley (24 years old), performed an original ballad to honor their father recently. Glen has had a lot of attention drawn to him as he continues his ongoing battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Glen's wife, Kim, told Rolling Stone in an interview,
"It's been a while since [Glen] has remembered one of the melodies to his own songs."
This difficult realization is perhaps what inspired Glen's kids to write their newest ode, "I'll Do The Remembering". The performance of their original song is heartfelt, with Ashley taking lead on vocals, and brother Shannon providing the perfect harmonies for their emotional tune. The words alone are sure to strike a chord with any listener, whether they've felt the tragedy of losing a loved one to Alzheimer's or not.
Be sure to watch the documentary, Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me, which premieres on February 22. "Remembering" will be included on the soundtrack for the film.
