"So You Don't Have To Love Me Anymore" was released in 2012 as the second single on Alan Jackson's Thirty Miles West album. Written by Jay Knowles and Jackson's nephew, Adam Wright, it peaked at #25 on the US Hot Country Songs (Billboard) chart and #8 on the US Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart.
Kevin John Coyne of Country Universe stated:
"His new release ranks among his best work, and given that he’s one of the genre’s all time greats, that’s heady company for it to be in."
The song tells the tale of a man that is so in love with the woman that is leaving him, that he's allowing her to make everyone believe that is was all his fault, and that he's the bad guy in the former relationship.
Check out Alan's great performance in San Diego. He's phenomenal, as usual.
