George Strait has done it once again, and blown us away with his rendition of the classic song, "South Of The Border (Down Mexico Way)".
Is there anything that George can't do? We didn't think so. His rendition of "South Of The Border (Down Mexico Way)" is such a catchy song, and we are truly blown away! The western tune was originally written by Jimmy Kennedy and Michael Carr in 1939 for the film of the same name. Since the release of the song, it has been covered by many artists, including Patsy Cline, Frank Sinatra, and the legendary George Strait!
George's rendition is great, and we're so happy he covered this song! In 2015, a tribute album to Bob Willis was released by the band, Asleep At The Wheel, and titled, Still The King: Celebrating the Music of Bob Willis and His Texas Playboys. The album was a compilation of tribute songs to Bob, and one particularly great collaboration was between George and Asleep At The Wheel, singing "South Of The Border (Down Mexico Way)".
Check out the video to hear this fun tune, and you'll be glad you did!
