The winner of season 7 of The Voice, Team Blake's Craig Wayne Boyd is already a big star. He won over millions of hearts with his expert renditions of popular songs like "Old Rugged Cross" and Alabama's "In Pictures" while competing on The Voice, and soon after he released his first single, "My Baby's Got A Smile On Her Face". While opening up for Rascal Flatts, the audience got a treat; Boyd shared with them a brand new song for the first time, called "I'm Still Here".
Before performing this song, Craig had a few things to say. "My last week being on that show, I wrote a song that really speaks about my whole journey up to that point," he said about the inspiration behind "I'm Still Here". This song is emotionally connected to Boyd, as it talks about the hardships he's faced getting to where he is now, and the fact that he pushed through and is "still here". With lyrics like, "I’m a believer / There’s a song in me that’s begging to be heard / Yes, I’m a dreamer / So I skipped a few meals and I slept in my car..." it's obvious he's wearing his heart on his sleeve for everyone to see.
Boyd doesn't miss a beat with this performance. He owns the stage, just like he did every time he performed on The Voice. Check it out!
