After hearing the international superstar is struggling to find people willing to duet with her, talkshow host Jimmy Fallon volunteers to help out his good friend Kelly Clarkson. They take the audience on a journey through time with a series of the most famous duets throughout history, including country classic "Islands in the Stream."
"I was actually reading a piece just last week saying that [Clarkson] has been having trouble finding people to do duets with her," says the talkshow host. "I don't know what they're talking about, I would love to do a duet with Kelly Clarkson!"
The "Piece by Piece" singer then jumps onto the screen before shyly asking, "Did someone say duet?" The two then embark on a duet of Sonny and Cher's "I Got You Babe" as well as "Don't You Want Me," "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," "Endless Love" and more! However, in the sea of famed duets, there was one that stood above the rest.
"Islands in the Streams" was recorded by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers in 1983 and has been covered by artists of virtually every genre since. The iconic duet reached No.1 in countries across the globe and remains a constant fixture in mainstream media.
