George Strait's final performance of "I'll Always Remember You" has left us speechless. George has left such a mark on the country music industry and no one will ever be able to replace the King of Country!
In 2011, George released his 27th album (wow!), Here For A Good Time. Of course, the album hit #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Albums chart, and later that same year, the album won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year. On the album was the heartfelt song, "I'll Always Remember You", and trust us, it will melt your heart.
While performing in Nashville for his The Cowboy Rides Away Tour, George performed the heartfelt song. This performance was espeically touching for everyone in the audience because it would be the last time they heard him sing this special song. Mid-song George tells his loyal fans,
I do want you to know, though,
That when I do walk off this stage for the last time,
And I'm all settled in, away from all this,
You won't be far away.
I'll still hear your screams and cheers in my mind.
And I'll always remember you.
We're pretty sure there wasn't a dry eye in the house after George's performance. Although his performance days may be over, none of us will ever forget the King of Country, and now we know he won't forget about us either!
Ride on George! Thank you for all of the amazing performances over the years!
Check out this emotional performance, and you'll be glad you did!
