In this sepia-toned music video, neo-Rockabilly singer Robert Gordon pays tribute to the legendary Conway Twitty with his moving cover of Twitty's "It's Only Make Believe" and it's amazing!
Originally written and released as a single by Conway Twitty in 1958, Robert Gordon released his rendition of "It's Only Make Believe" on his 1979 album, "Rock Billy Boogie" during the height of the Rockabilly revival. In the video, Gordon - who was heavily influenced by both Conway Twitty and Elvis Presley - manages to capture the essence of both legends, channeling Conway's voice and the mannerisms of a young Elvis during his days with Sun Records.
Robert Gordon may sound like Conway Twitty, but he definitely made "It's Only Make Believe" his very own. Conway Twitty will always remain a country favorite and an absolute legend!
