Miranda Lambert's emotional hit song, "The House That Built Me", is one of the most loved songs in modern country music history. It's tells a story that many people can relate to- a story about a house that holds important memories that we all wish we could go back to, if we could just taste those memories once more. Miranda's performances are always fantastic and radiate the emotional connection she feels for each of them. It's no different when she brings country legend, Patty Loveless, on stage to sing the song with her.

"The House That Built Me" was released in 2010 off of Miranda's Revolution album. It was actually originally meant to be recorded by her husband, Blake Shelton, but when Miranda heard it, she knew it was meant for her. The song has earned her a Grammy, and she also performed it during the Academy of Country Music Awards, where she won three awards that year. This song talks about how the narrator returns to the house that she grew up in, flooded with memories, and asking the current owners if she could just look around.

With tear-filled eyes, Miranda sings the song with Patty, who happens to be a huge fan of the "The House That Built Me". Their performance is phenomenal, successfully bringing us back to our own memories and helping us to remember all the good times.

I know they say you cant go home again.
I just had to come back one last time.
Ma'am I know you don't know me from Adam.
But these handprints on the front steps are mine.
And up those stairs, in that little back bedroom
is where I did my homework and I learned to play guitar.
And I bet you didn't know under that live oak
my favorite dog is buried in the yard.

I thought if I could touch this place or feel it
this brokenness inside me might start healing.
Out here its like I'm someone else,
I thought that maybe I could find myself
if I could just come in I swear I'll leave.
Won't take nothing but a memory
from the house that built me.

Mama cut out pictures of houses for years.
From 'Better Homes and Garden' magazines.
Plans were drawn, concrete poured,
and nail by nail and board by board
Daddy gave life to mama's dream.

I thought if I could touch this place or feel it
this brokenness inside me might start healing.
Out here its like I'm someone else,
I thought that maybe I could find myself.
If I could just come in I swear I'll leave.
Won't take nothing but a memory
from the house that built me.

You leave home, you move on and you do the best you can.
I got lost in this whole world and forgot who I am.

I thought if I could touch this place or feel it
this brokenness inside me might start healing.
Out here its like I'm someone else,
I thought that maybe I could find myself.
If I could walk around I swear I'll leave.
Won't take nothing but a memory
from the house that built me.
