Although Paul Ieti was just 21 years old when he auditioned for America's Got Talent, he already had that 'old soul' quality to his voice.
Before appearing on AGT, he sang the Etta James classic 'At Last'... in uniform, in Afghanistan, and we think it's fair to say this one comes pretty darn close to the original.
"I love the military," the U.S. soldier said in a recent interview. "But with the God-given talent I have, I know there's more for me [...] to share with the world."
Paul's version of the Rascal Flatts hit 'Bless the Broken Road' is just stunning, and got unanimous approval from the four judges, sending him to the semifinals.
"My leaders and supervisors were very supportive and stood behind me the whole time," explains Paul. "They made it possible for me to leave for the show and for that I want to sincerely thank them."

'Bless The Broken Road' (originally by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band)
I set out on a narrow way many years ago Hoping I would find true love along the broken road But I got lost a time or two Wiped my brow and kept pushing through I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you
Every long lost dream led me to where you are Others who broke my heart they were like Northern stars Pointing me on my way into your loving arms This much I know is true That God blessed the broken road That led me straight to you (Yes He did)
I think about the years I spent just passing through I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you But you just smile and take my hand You've been there you understand It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true. Yeah.
Now I'm just rolling home Into my lover's arms This much I know is true That God blessed the broken road That led me straight to you.
That God blessed the broken road That led me straight to you.
