April 13, 2013 will forever be a day written in our history books. The tragic Boston Marathon bombing was a terrifying day, but out of darkness comes light. One of the bombing victims, Rebekah Gregory was there that day in 2013 but proved that even after all she has been through, she can run with the best of them.
Rebekah nearly lost her life while standing at the finish line in 2013 and since has endured 35 surgeries. One of which was the amputation of her left leg. She has proved to be extremely resilient in the face of such darkness, and in an interview after the race she told ABC News the reason why running in the marathon again was so important to her.
"I was running for everyone. I was running for lives lost that day, families, the survivors, and essentially America."
She has come a long way, and seems stronger than ever. Rebekah is truly an amazing woman, with a story worth telling.
Watch Rebekah cross the finish line below, and her interview with ABC News.
