No surprise here, Carrie Underwood has always been talented.

With her powerhouse vocals and and overall star power, it's hard to imagine a time when she wasn't on stage, blessing us with her talent. So where did it all begin? At just 13-years-old. That's right - thirteen! We have proof right here with her chilling rendition of Lee Greenwood's patriotic tune, "God Bless The USA"!

"God Bless The USA" is near impossible not to sing along to. Carrie's cover was released on her First Studio Sessions album around 13 or 14-years-old. We all know Greenwood's original, which was released in 1984 on his You've Got A Good Love Comin'. It's without a doubt his signature song.

Greenwood has even talked about what"God Bless The USA" means to him.

He stated in an interview with The Boot"I wanted to write it my whole life. When I got to that point, we were doing 300 days a year on the road, and we were on our fourth or fifth album on MCA. I called my producer, and I said I have a need to do this. I've always wanted to write a song about America, and I said we just need to be more united."

Underwood's rendition is absolutely beautiful. You can hear the difference in her voice today, but it would be hard to mistake that range. It almost makes you wonder why it took so long for her to become a star!

Listen to the Underwood's cover of the patriotic ballad below!

LYRICS BELOW

If tomorrow all the things were gone I'd worked for all my life
And I had to start again with just my children and my wife
I'd thank my lucky stars to be livin' here today
'Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can't take that away

And I'm proud to be an American where as least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me
And I'd gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God bless the USA

From the lakes of Minnesota, to the hills of Tennessee
Across the plains of Texas, from sea to shining sea
From Detroit down to Houston and New York to LA
Well, there's pride in every American heart
And it's time to stand and say that

I'm proud to be an American where as least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me
And I'd gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God bless the USA
