When Josiah Duncan, 5 years old, and his mother, Ava Faulk, saw a homeless man sitting outside of Waffle House, Josiah jumped at the opportunity to help someone less fortunate. He then proceeded to ask his mother if they could buy him a meal and she agreed without hesitation.
Sadly, nobody acknowledged the man when he walked in. But shortly after sitting down, Josiah gave him a menu and told him he could order anything he wanted. Josiah was happy that the man didn't hold back and ordered a large plate of food that was sure to fill him up.
Josiah's act of kindness didn't stop there. He insisted on saying a prayer in front of everyone at the restaurant. His mother said that everyone was in tears, including the homeless man.
This remarkable story goes to show that even in tough times, there is always an opportunity to be a beacon of light to others. Josiah certainly made the world brighter with his kind heart.
