Jamey Johnson’s Incredible George Jones Medley At The Grand Ole Opry (WATCH)

Jamey Johnson is an amazing talent and a very brave man! He took on the task of singing a George Jones Medley at the Grand Ole Opry with George himself in the audience! For George’s 80th Birthday celebration, Jamey’s performance was memorable, to say the least!

You can see George and his wife, Nancy, enjoying the performance, sitting front row. At the end of the performance, George smiles and waves at Jamey, probably meaning “Thank you! And great job!” The medley included George’s songs “Tennessee Whiskey,” “Walk Through This World With Me,” and “Who’s Gonna Fill Their Shoes.” We love seeing videos of George Jones, especially when he is enjoying his own music

Jamey has been on the country music scene for about ten years and has definitely made a name for himself!  He has co-written singles for Trace Adkins, George Strait, James Otto, Joe Nichols and Jessie James.  He notes Alabama and Alan Jackson as his early country music influences.  He recorded a tribute album in 2012 called “Living for a Song: A Tribute to Hank Cochran” and sang duets with Ray Price, Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Costello, George Strait, Vince Gill, and Merle Haggard.
