Joey + Rory, country and bluegrass duo, announced that Joey Feek, the female half of the duo, is once again battling cancer. Joey announced last year that she underwent surgery for her cervical cancer, and the couple thought that was the end of it. Sadly, it seems the cancer is back and the duo, who are also married, are standing together strong through the ordeal.
They shared the announcement on their blog, writing "...Joey had a port put in for chemotherapy and radiation. She starts the treatments in the coming weeks." If these treatments don't work, the singer will be in for a tougher road, with her husband and daughter there to support her.
"Here’s what Joey and I know…
God has a plan, and His plan is our plan. Each day that we’re given is a beautiful gift from Him to us. And while we will pray each day for a miracle, we’re gonna live each day as if it’s a miracle. And it is." - Rory Feek
Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family as Joey goes into treatment.
There has been an update on Joey's progress with her cancer treatment. The couple posted an image to their personal facebook page of Joey and her daughter Indiana at Joey's first radiology appointment.
As the news has broken of Joey's fight with cancer, again, there has been huge support behind her as she begins radiology treatment to fight the cancer. With support coming in from various social media sites and from friends and family, we are all hoping for a safe and healthy recovery for Joey.
Make sure to check back for any updates.
