It is near impossible to top the King of Country, or even come close. But when you hear Country artist James David Carter sing George Strait's classic, "Carried Away", you have to admit that he is pretty amazing.
James David Carter appeared on The Voice as a contestant for Team Blake. Although he didn't make it to the top spot on the show, he is building his career in Country music just fine. The talented newcomer has over 4 million views on his YouTube channel and has a sound that Country music is certainly longing for.
George released "Carried Away" in 1996 off his album Clear Blue Sky. The song became George's 30th number one hit, and was nominated for an ACM Award. With beautiful lyrics and a classic sound, it is no wonder it remains a fan favorite.

I don't take my whiskey to extremes
Don't believe in chasin' crazy dreams
My feet are planted firmly on the ground
But darlin' when you come around
I get carried away by the look by the light in your eyes
Before I even realize the ride I'm on baby I'm long gone
I get carried away nothin' matters but bein' with you
Like a feather flyin' high up in the sky on a windy day, I get carried away.
It might seem like an ordinary night
Same ol' stars, the same ol' moon up high
But when I see you standin' at your door
Nothin's ordinary anymore.
