The marriage of George Jones and Tammy Wynette was the topic of many headlines during much of the early 1970s, and still remains a hot topic in the country music world. On stage, they seemed so perfect for each other, but off-stage it was hard to maintain a strong relationship.
In the late 1970s Tammy sat down with Huell Howser at her home to speak about her then fling with Burt Reynolds and her long lost love, George Jones. Tammy spoke fondly of George, even though the two had split after marital problems. She made it very clear that they were on good terms, and wanted to remain close for their daughter Georgette's sake. An adorable young Georgette is also seen during the interview delivering orange juice to her mom and Huell!
"I'll never get George Jones out of my life. He will always be a part of my life, a very special part of my life."
It is so wonderful to see this rare footage of Tammy and Georgette. Watch the full interview below!
