Michael Martin Murphey was the 1982 Academy of Country Music Top New Male Vocalist and in that same year, the song "What's Forever For" made #1 on Billboards Hot Country Singles. He probably didn't think that he would be singing beside a YouTube sensation over twenty years later on the MuzArt World Foundation stage

Lexi Walker is a YouTube sensation with hits from the National Antehm to gospel songs and even partnering with South African artist Alex Boyé to create a beautiful rendition of "Let It Go". But her talents really show as she stands beside Michael and sings this beautiful song.

“This song needs a child’s voice because this song addresses people sticking together in a relationship instead of splitting up, so that our children have mother and a dad.”

Before they even began to perform, Michael explains why he is asking Lexi to perform with him. And when you hear the lyrics, it's obviously clear why, because what he says is true, the song needed a child voice to make the message clear.

Check out the video below and be prepared to be stunned.

LYRICS BELOW

I've been looking at people and how they change with the times
And lately all I've been seeing are people
Throwing love away and losing their minds

Maybe it's me who's gone crazy, but I can't understand why
All these lovers keep hurting each other,
When good love is so hard to come by

So what's the glory in living?
Doesn't anybody ever stay together anymore?
And if love never lasts forever, tell me what's Forever For?

And I see love hungry people tryin' their best to survive,
When right there in their hands is a dying romance
And they're not even trying to keep it alive

So, what's the glory in living?
Doesn't anybody ever stay together anymore?
And if love never lasts forever, tell me what's Forever For?

So, what's the glory in living?
Doesn't anybody ever stay together anymore?
And if love never lasts forever, tell me what's Forever For?
