When the song "Make The World Go Away" was first written in 1963 by Hank Cockran, there was no way of knowing the type of hit it would become. From Elvis Presley to Eddy Arnold, the song has been covered by many legends.
Elvis had always shown an appreciation for country music, and there were times pieces came out during his rock and roll career. But in 1970, Elvis released his first country music album titled, “Elvis Country (I’m 10,000 Years Old).”
The album consisted of Elvis' favorite country songs, but there was one in particular that stood out to him. The closing track on the album was his gorgeous rendition of "Make The World Go Away", and truly marked The King of Rock and Roll's transition to country music.
Also below, a live performance of Elvis singing "Make The World Go Away". Enjoy!
