Nothing keeps Alan Jackson from keeping it country, even if he's in the Big Apple. Making an appearance on the TODAY Show, Alan played a couple of his classics on the TODAY plaza. Fans waited all morning for him to perform, holding signs and cheering for the classic country star.

"Oh that's me? Sorry. So let me do this song, we'll back it up and do one of my favorite old songs. I wrote this when I was a young man and my wife, Denise, and I were living these lyrics way back then. And I always like to send this song out to anybody that's still living on love where ever I'm playin'."

A humble man who truly enjoys the music and fans rather than the fame, Alan played a few of his classics, including, "Chattahoochee", "Livin' On Love". With 25 years in country music, Alan is a country legend who "doesn't believe he is where he is" now. He really attributes his success to his fans and admits that he's not comfortable in front of a lot of people and gets nervous still when he goes on stage

CHATTAHOOCHEE

Well, way down yonder on the Chattahoochee
It gets hotter than a hoochie coochie
We laid rubber on the Georgia asphalt
We got a little crazy but we never got caught.

Down by the river on a Friday night
Pyramid of cans in the pale moonlight
Talkin' 'bout cars and dreamin' 'bout women
Never had a plan, just a livin' for the minute.

Yeah, way down yonder on the Chattahoochee
Never knew how much that muddy water meant to me
But I learned how to swim and I learned who I was
A lot about livin' and a little 'bout love.

Ya ha

Well, we fogged up the windows in my old Chevy
I was willin' but she wasn't ready
So I settled for a burger and a grape sno-cone
I dropped her off early but I didn't go home.

Down by the river on a Friday night
Pyramid of cans in the pale moonlight
Talkin' 'bout cars and dreamin' 'bout women
Never had a plan, just a livin' for the minute.

Yeah, way down yonder on the Chattahochee
Never knew how much that muddy water meant to me
But I learned how to swim and I learned who I was
A lot about livin' and a little 'bout love.

Well, way down yonder on the Chattahochee

It gets hotter than a hoochie coochie

We laid rubber on the Georgia asphalt
We got a little crazy but we never got caught.

Well, we fogged up the windows in my old Chevy
I was willin' but she wasn't ready
So I settled for a burger and a grape sno-cone
I dropped her off early but I didn't go home.

Down by the river on a Friday night
Pyramid of cans in the pale moonlight
Talkin' 'bout cars and dreamin' 'bout women
Never had a plan, just a livin' for the minute.

Yeah, way down yonder on the Chattahochee
Never knew how much that muddy water meant to me
But I learned how to swim and I learned who I was
A lot about livin' and a little 'bout love.

A lot about livin' and a little 'bout love.

Ya he

That's right...

LIVIN' ON LOVE
Two young people without a thing
Say some vows and spread their wings
Settle down with just what they need
Livin' on love

She don't care 'bout what's in style
She just likes the way he smiles
It takes more than marble and tile
Livin' on love

Livin' on love, buyin' on time
Without somebody nothing ain't worth a dime
Just like an old fashion story book rhyme
Livin' on love
It sounds simple, that's what you're thinkin'
But love can walk through fire without blinkin'
It doesn't take much when you get enough
Livin' on love

Two old people without a thing
Children gone but still they sing
Side by side in that front porch swing
Livin' on love

He can't see anymore
She can barely sweep the floor
Hand in hand they'll walk through that door
Just livin' on love

Livin' on love, buyin' on time
Without somebody nothing ain't worth a dime
Just like an old fashion story book rhyme
Livin' on love
It sounds simple that's what you're thinkin'
But love can walk through fire without blinkin'
It doesn't take much when you get enough
Livin' on love

No it doesn't take much when you get enough
Livin' on love
